Main object of the work:
The work consisted of the mechanical adjustment of the two bottom outlet sluice gates, which are flat sliding, measure 3.95m x 3.69m and specifically in:

      • Construction of access track in riverbed and tura, displacement and resurfacing with dismantling at end of operation
      • Two-stage sluice gate disassembly with machining and subsequent reassembly
      • Dimensional survey with performance of Non-Destructive Testing on diaphragm in the workshop
      • Sandblasting of surfaces to grade SA2½
      • Material carryover by welding and subsequent grinding and restoration of degraded surfaces
      • Total restoration of side and front seals and guides
      • Painting the floodgates
      • Workshop servomotor overhaul with internal cleaning followed by complete overhaul and redo of internal seal and lower seals and final painting
      • Overhaul, CND and repainting of control rods L 25m
      • Gargami overhaul with dimensional survey, material carryover by welding and subsequent grinding to restore degraded surfaces after sandblasting and final painting
      • Overhaul of drainage compartments with injections of suitable cementitious material to plug any gaps between the lining and the dam structure, carryover of material by welding and subsequent grinding to restore surfaces, replacement of particularly degraded parts with supply of new sheet metal of suitable thickness to be welded to the parts already in place, and final sandblasting and painting
      • Hydraulic power unit overhaul with complete draining of mineral oil contained in the power unit, piping and servomotors, disposal of the extracted oil, cleaning and maintenance of all power unit components, replacement of the two control solenoid valves with others of modern design, filling the system with newly supplied oil
      • Installation of a new digital display showing the degree of opening of each sluice gate in real time including supply and installation of the display including the derivation of signals departing from the piston area, supply and installation of signal transmission cables
      • Testing and return to operation of the system

Adjustment of hydraulic organs Gammauta Dam

Main object of the work:

  • Modification of the 8500x4730mm sector sluice gates of the surface outlet such that they could be opened and closed by operation of hydraulic servomotors powered by a hydraulic power unit equipped with an accumulation block with a manually operated hand pump. The servomotors were placed inside the side wells in order to allow smooth movement of the sluice gate by action on the ropes. The sluice gates were cleaned, the pulleys were checked and repainted, and the mechanical connection systems between rope and sluice gates and between rope and the cylinders themselves were replaced. Welding repairs were carried out on the tops where they had deteriorated with subsequent machining including modification/adaptation of the sill and overhaul of the pivot supports with disassembly of the pins, supply of ball joints for DN240 pin, machining of the pin to reduce it to 240 mm, machining of the outer supports, machining of rings and machining of front ball joints. Finally, they were supplied and installed with corresponding adversarial testing:
  • Level control system (level transducers, position transducers)
  • Controller cabinet, sub-distribution board with cables and electrical connections
  • New control units for surface sluice gates
  • New control servomotors for the sluice gates with associated piping
  • Engineering, level adjustment software development and CND on the supply
